Residents can register to voter using our Online Voter Registration found at Michigan.gov/VoterRegistration. Visitors must currently have a Michigan driver’s license or State Identification Card and qualify to vote in the state of Michigan (i.e., citizen, age, residency). Current voters can easily change their address on this site. The website utilizes responsive design, meaning that it can be used on any computer, tablet, or smart phone.

The OVR registration is like a mail-in voter registration in that a voter cannot use it to register in time to vote in the 14 days prior to or on Election Day. In that time period, the voter will receive their notice on screen and in their receipt telling them to register in person in the clerk’s office if they wish to vote in the upcoming election.
