Primary Election
August 7, 2012
Vote Tuesday, August 7th, at the Community Center.
Absentee ballots are available at City Hall. An application must be submitted. The form can be found to the left at downloadable forms. Miltary and Overseas Civilians please read the attached Move Act.
To check on the status of your ballot, go to AV Status. Type in your name and dob.
The last day to register to voter (if you not a registered voter already) is Tuesday, July 9th. City Hall be open Saturday, August 4th to hand out absentee ballots from 9 am - 2 pm.
Polls will be open from 7am-8pm.
General Information
The City of Sylvan Lake holds elections annually (November) for electing City Council members. Voting takes place at the Community Center, 2456 Pontiac Drive. The polls are open from 7am-8pm.
Voters need to be registered to vote in the City of Sylvan Lake. A voter registration application is available under downloadable forms. You do not need to register for each election.
If you would like to help in the election process please fill out the Election Inspectors Application and turn it into the clerk's office. This form is also available in downloadable forms.

Election Reminder Service
A new Election Reminder service for Oakland County voters is now available. Essentially, Oakland County voters can sign up to receive email reminders about upcoming local, school, state and federal elections.
The reminder will include a link to the Clerk’s Elections website, which provides a lot of valuable election-related information, including:
* A list of candidates and ballot proposals for that election.
* Campaign finance reports listing donations to candidates and political committees.
* A list of local polling locations.

* A link to the state’s Voter Information Center which can help voters determine if they are registered to vote, help them find their polling location and view a sample ballot.
