ZBA Hearing August 8, 2018



PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Zoning Board of Appeals has been requested to grant a variance from the zoning ordinance to not require them to install a sidewalk along Inverness for their proposed restaurant development at 1819 Inverness, Sylvan Lake, MI 48320.  This property is in the C1 Neighborhood Commercial zoning district. 

Property Description: T2N, R9E, SEC 1 RADLETT PARK SUB LOT 1.  PIN: 18-01-236-018 

Variance Required:  Division 2, Section 78-572(p) Off-Street Parking, Space Layout, Standards, construction and maintenance; and Section 78-633 Sidewalks and bikeways, States that sidewalks, of not less than five feet in width, shall be constructed along the right-of-way line of all abutting streets in non-residential zoned developments. The applicant’s approved site plan indicates connections to the existing Clinton River Trail in lieu of a sidewalk along Inverness.  Requiring a variance from these sections of the Code for sidewalk placement. 

According to the provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, we are notifying all property owners within 300 feet of the parcel in question that the Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sylvan Lake Community Center, 2456 Pontiac Drive, Sylvan Lake, MI 48320, to hear and consider any objections to granting this variance.  Written comments will be accepted at City Hall until 4:00 p.m. August 8, 2018.
